EyeQ St Ives has been providing the North Shore with quality eyecare since it was established in 1983 by Amanda Macknight. Our optometrists, Gladys Fung, Meesha Perera, Veronica Giang and Amanda Macknight along with our staff of very experienced optical dispensers and assistants are there to ensure you have all your vision requirements satisfied….in fact, we expect that your visit will be memorable for all the right reasons.
Amanda Macknight started the practice in 1983 with a focus on providing professional eyecare and quality eyewear. Amanda has been fortunate to be able to combine a fulfilling career in Optometry with raising her family. Her special interests are children’s vision and behavioural optometry and helping patients maintain healthy vision as they age.
Gladys graduated with first class Honours from UNSW has been in practice for over 15 years. She has since also completed her Masters courses in Behavioural Optometry. She has a passion for children’s vision, identifying and assisting with vision related learning difficulties in school and also myopia management including orthokerotology. She also loves building relationships with entire families as she manages their individual eye health and visual needs. She has grown up in the local community and is also enjoying raising a young family. She can speak fluent Cantonese and basic Mandarin.
Meesha graduated with first class honours from UNSW and has been practicing in the local area for 10 years. Having graduated with Ocular Therapeutics, she has a special interest in managing eye diseases such as glaucoma and macular degeneration. With two young children of her own, she also has a keen interest in children’s vision, specifically myopia management through Orthokeratology. Meesha has an interest in the lives behind the eyes and enjoys a challenge!
Veronica graduated with a Bachelor of Vision Science and Masters of Clinical Optometry from UNSW. After university, she worked in regional Newcastle and being therapeutically endorsed, gained extensive experience in diagnosing and managing ocular diseases. Veronica also has a keen interest in myopia control, given she is a myope and wears orthokeratology lenses herself. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her friends and family, playing piano and guitar, and going to the beach.
