Do You Have a Valid Prescription?

An up to date prescription is vital to ensure the very best vision and contact lens comfort. Your contact lens needs can change without you realising so it’s important you see your optometrist every 12 months.

SKU: YJCP85 Categories: ,

Product Description

Are you nearsighted or farsighted to such a degree that vision correction with contact lenses has been difficult to find? If so, CooperVision Biofinity® XR (extended range) sphere lenses may be the answer. Biofinity XR lenses are designed for extreme prescriptions like yours. And they offer the same superior comfort and vision performance of Biofinity sphere contacts for up to 29 nights of continuous wear.*
*Biofinity lenses are recommended for monthly replacement and are CE marked under the Medical Devices Directive for occasional overnight or up to 29 nights’ continuous wear under the guidance of the eyecare practition

Understanding your Prescription

Power:

Also known as ‘sphere’ or abbreviated as PWR/SPH, this refers to the amount of myopia (short-sightedness) or hyperopia (long-sightedness). This will be a positive or negative number and will often be different for your two eyes.

Base Curve:

Abbreviated as BC, this refers to the curvature of the contact lens (how steep or flat it is). This is usually between 8.0 and 9.0. It can be found near the power measurement, often adjacent to the diameter measurement.

Diameter:

Abbreviated as DIA, this refers to the size or diameter of your contact lens. This is often fixed based on the contact lens type and is usually between 13.5 and 15.0. It can be found near the power measurement, often adjacent to the base curve measurement.

Quantity:

This refers to the number of boxes required for each eye. It’s important to note how many lenses are contained in a box. Most contact lenses are sold such that 1 box purchased for each eye (2 boxes in total) will either be a 3 month or 6 month supply.
