Tony Ireland EyeQ Optometrists have been providing quality eyecare in Ulladulla for more than eighteen years, and for over twenty-two years in the broader Shoalhaven area. Optometrists Tony, Nina and Anne are supported by dispensers Bonnie, Ché and Rhiannon, who is currently studying her Certificate IV in Optical Dispensing. Along with being a qualified dispenser Bonnie has an Associate Degree in Fashion Design and Styling and can assist in selecting the perfect frames for you.
Also recently joining the team is Liz Jackson, B Optom, FACBO. Liz is a Fellow of the Australasian College of Behavioural Optometry, was a supervisor at the UNSW School Of Optometry in the Paediatric/Vision Therapy clinic for almost 10 years and has lectured extensively to optometrists about paediatric vision issues. Having worked in the area of Behavioural Optometry for more than 20 years, Liz is able to use the skills and tools she has learnt during that time to help children develop their vision to its full potential.
Tony has special interest in managing diseases of the eye like cataract, glaucoma and macular degeneration. Tony is also interested in contact lenses, and we keep a large supply of contact lenses in stock. We are a bulk billing practice and are also equipped for Digital Retinal Imaging, Visual Field Testing and Ocular Coherence Tomography which is critical technology for tracking glaucoma. We also fit Orthokeratology contact lenses, which give clear daytime vision without the need for glasses or contact lenses.
Professionally gaining a Masters of Optometry in 2008, Tony loves building a relationship with his patients and is always thinking of long term management of vision through life. Tony has 3 young children, and is also heavily involved in ocean surf ski paddling, and with Mollymook Surf Club as a coach and competitor.
Anne’s passion lies in the dynamic role of optometry which encompasses primary eye care to the community, ocular diseases and collaborative care with other health-care providers. Outside of work, Anne enjoys going to the Gym, Ballet and running.
Nina’s Optometry interests are found in ocular diseases and low vision and she loves having the opportunity to make a difference in the local community through eyecare. Outside of work, Nina enjoys playing a round or two of tennis and is really keen to explore the lovely scenery of the South Coast.
Liz has a particular interest in assessment and management of strabismus (eye turns), accommodation and binocular vision disorders (eye focusing and eye teaming disorders) and visual issues that can impact on learning, including visual perception disorders. Liz also enjoys helping adults with these problems and exploring options for assisting with the visual impacts of traumatic brain injuries.
Liz believes that eye examinations should be a fun and relaxed process for all children and adults and is looking forward to working in the community at EyeQ Ulladulla.
